Firebird Tours organized a fantastic 10-day trip through Portugal and Madeira Island. Everything went smoothly, and all the folks involved, like drivers and guides, were great. The only hiccup in an otherwise perfect experience was the ground transport situation when we landed at Lisbon Airport, and this happened twice. I suspect the issue lies with the airport rather than Firebird. When we got there, Firebird instructed us to head to the Meeting Area at the airport exit, where we thought we’d find a driver with a sign displaying my name or 'Firebird Tours.' Instead, there was no driver present, but there was a sign that read 'Firebird Tours.' It took me a bit to figure out that there was someone (maybe an airport staffer?) who had a list of arrivals and their assigned drivers. After locating that person, she confirmed we were on her list, made a call, and informed us that our driver was 'on the way.' After a while, she let us know the driver was outside and offered to take us to him. She did just that. In the end, it took about an hour from when we reached the 'Meeting Area' until we were finally in our van heading to the hotel. I’m not sure if the airport keeps drivers away from the Meeting Area or if they can’t park close to arrivals, or if Firebird just chose to wait for a call instead of having their driver there when we landed.

Absolutely top-notch professional help. Lisa was my go-to person throughout the booking process, and she kept in touch with me quickly during the trip. Traveling to Tromso, Bergen, Oslo, Copenhagen, and a bunch of charming little towns in between to see the Northern Lights was a challenge, but Lisa made it super easy and enjoyable. Every tour and pickup from my hotels and airports went off without a hitch.

After spending 8 weeks traveling on my own, I decided to book 6 nights in Norway with several side excursions through Firebird. The pre-tour communication was super helpful, and everything—from the first taxi ride to the different activities, the accommodations, and our final drop-off at Tromso airport—was of excellent quality. We even got lucky and saw an incredible Northern Lights display while snowmobiling! Normally, I handle all my bookings myself, but there’s no way I could’ve matched the experience that Firebird provided. It was a fantastic holiday.

We had a fantastic time during our 19-day adventure in Morocco. The organization was top-notch, and the places we stayed were just right for our needs.
